"Ranking the films of Paul Thomas Anderson is truly a difficult to impossible task. Apart from his debut film Sydney/Hard Eight (1996) which is brilliant but simply not purely as powerful as his others, and Punch-Drunk Love (2002), which is a masterpiece and is much more powerful than Sydney, also does not compete with Anderson's five other milestones of cinematic genius, thus the ranking of the top five films on this list is purely subjective, as I believe these five pictures are equally extraordinary but each in a different way." - Daniel Blumensev
